Hello to all of my creative friends! I wanted to make sure each of you were aware of the "It's a Girl Thing" Christmas Shopping Event tomorrow evening 11/10. It is from 6:00 to 9:00 in the Village of West Clay Meeting House. We will have over 20 vendors there so you can get a great jump start to your holiday shopping. Sunshine Bakery will be there selling yummy (but not fat free;) baked goods and taking orders for Christmas cookies! All of the 20 vendors have made product donations with a minimum $50.00 value to our raffle. There is no admission fee to attend and raffle tickets will be sold for $2.00 each or 5 for $8.00, proceeds to benefit the National Alliance to End Homelessness. It is going to be a great evening and I would love to see your smiling faces there. I will be speaking at 8:00 and giving fabulous Holiday decorating tips. Make sure you come no later than 8:00 as we will be drawing for our raffle prizes right after my presentation!

It has bee a while since I've posted something here and I've made a huge life-change since I've last visited.
Having recently retired after 33 years of teaching art full-time, I have formed a small business to continue doing full-time what I have been doing part-time for years. Artwork, bagpiping and caricatures.
Below are the services I provide.
* For weddings and receptions I do (and have done) calligraphy, bagpiping and am available for caricatures.
* For high school Post Proms I do (and have done) caricatures.
* For corporate, private and collegiate events and parties I do (and have done) bagpiping and caricatures.
* For artwork needs, I am available for (and have done) illustrations, portraits, pet portraits, full color caricatures and fine art for home, office or as gifts.
* For memorials, funerals and wakes I do (and have done) bagpiping.
I am currently taking appointments.
There... all caught up. Thank you very much.

I really want to learn more about the idea of Art for Positive Change. I have been reading and investigating the idea more of late; My quest is to find a position with a company that has this philosophy and practices it.
Thanks for starting this group!

Check out the first installment in my short video series for TrueSlant.com about the real faces of the American health care debate. This first one I shot of a 62-year-old man in Evansville, Indiana, who was saddled with a $39,000 hospital bill due to what looks an awful lot like insurance fraud.

View the video, or share stories of your own here. I'm looking for more subjects for this series. So please get in touch if you're interested.
