March 27 Update:

1. Calling all Indiana Bloggers…
BlogIN (un)conference registration is now open

Anyone interested in learning more about how to blog, why to blog and meet other bloggers should attend Smaller Indiana’s BlogIN on April 26, 2008. Bloggers from around the state will share best practices, tips, tools, case studies, and strategies for successful blogging. Whether you are an experienced blogger or a blogging beginner, join us for an afternoon as we explore blogging as a tool to build community, culture and commerce in Indiana.

Event Details

Sponsored by Smaller Indiana, and hosted at the IUPUI School of Informatics, BlogIN 2008, a Blogging “Unconference”, will be held Saturday, April 26 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. We will begin with presentations from some of Indiana’s own “rock star” bloggers. These experienced bloggers will share how they blog, why they blog and what blogging has done for them personally and professionally. After keynote presentations we will move into the (un)conference portion of the program.

What’s an Unconference?

Unlike a typical conference where the agenda is set-in-stone prior to the event, at an unconference the audience gets to set some of the agenda. Prior to the event we will allow attendees to submit ideas for things they want to learn, or things they can volunteer to teach. We will organize all these ideas into a schedule of sessions, and attendees will be able to choose the sessions that best fit their needs.

How to get involved

Please complete the registration process to reserve your spot in the Blog IN. As part of the registration process you will be asked if you are interested in leading a session. Please share your thoughts.

2. Help promote Smaller Indiana - join us for our Blog IN Stunt on the Circle - April 14 from Noon to 1pm - all Smoosiers should be on Monument Circle wearing blue or yellow and carrying their laptops -- we're staging a "blog IN" demonstration to gain awareness for the event.

I registered for two of us for the event but the registration site didn't allow me to add my friend's name. Is there someone I can contact to make sure his name is on the list?

I'll be out of town during the April 26th BlogIN, but would love to know what I missed... I'd pay for a CD, DVD or even a transcript of the event. Whatever works. I already mentioned this to Doug Karr during Monday's BlogMob and he was kind enough to say he'll look into it.

Lorraine, to your question and to an e-mail I just received from Pat Coyle: Can someone address Tom Britt's question? As someone who's never experienced an unconference, I need some more info, please. Persuade me! ;-)

Where is everybody? We have 97 members in this group, and 17 people registered for the event? Are you planning on attending? Will you be at the blog mob on Monday?
Tom Britt Comment by Tom Britt on April 6, 2008 at 11:00am
is this somehow related to the conference.blogindiana.com event in August (16-17)?
Thomas Ho Comment by Thomas Ho on March 28, 2008 at 6:10pm
I've added the event to Upcoming

I want to be involved in this, but seems to be moving faster than I can keep up. Still want to voice my support for the event though...great idea and I hope to participate.

Sorry, I had to work at that time, but would love to find out what was discussed

Is it possible to get more notice for planning meetings? I'm sure there are others like me who would like to be involved and help, but need more notice.
