Making people and ideas findable

I got myself an Apple TV for Christmas and I've used it hear and there. You can listen to music in your itunes collection over your television and you can watch youtube videos with it.

I had a question about it? Has anyone here bought movies from itunes and watched the movies from the pc and/or the apple tv?

I'm thinking about cutting back some of my gadget collection. I would get rid of my PS3 and blu-ray movies and then just buy hd movies off of itunes.

Let me through out something may be irrelevant to your question.

I would actually get rid of the Apple TV and get the itunes patch MediaLink by Nullriver. It's a simple piece of software that networks your PS3 to your home computer (if you're using a mac). I debated getting a gaming console or an Apple TV, and opted for the gaming console. I went that direction because of the added functionality that I got out of a gaming box over the Apple TV. You can't stream iTunes movies (or other itunes DRM stuff), but the movies that itunes has are availble on the PS3 store.

That's my 1.5 cents. I'm curious to see which direction you go!

I've decided to keep them both, for now. I'm thinking something else is going to be eliminated.

Yes - we rent movies from iTunes and stream movies from a large iTunes collection all the time. No major complaints - occasionally a restart is required, but the UI is simple and straightforward. The only thing I would like to see changed immediately is "real" background downloads (i.e. while watching an already downloaded movie). Best, L
