Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Hello,

I'm looking for volunteer opportunities in Indy. I'm specifically interested in working at a soup kitchen or food bank at least once a week on weekday evenings. I'm also interested in other options so please let me know of any other opportunities as well.

I'm also interested in participating in an adopt-a-family or child program during the Holiday Season. Ideally, I'd like to get my office involved in a program.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Jackie,

I am the Community Partnerships Coordinator at PassWord Community Mentoring. PassWord is an Indianapolis based not profit which serves at-risk youth and their families. We have a holiday sponsorship program that connects people in the community with our youth and their families during the holiday season. Attached is information that outlines what is entailed in sponsoring a family. Please review the information and contact me with any questions. If you are interested in participating in PassWord's Present Connection, I will then send you a sponsorship form to complete.

Thank you for your interest!

I would encourage you to talk to Beth at http://www.lordspantry.org. She can be reached at etorsay@comcast.net. I've been down there dozens of times and they are the salt of the earth. They really need people when the weather gets cold.

Concord Center is a neighborhood center on the near Southside that helps many working-class, low income families with tutoring, afterschool care and all or most of the activities you are interested in helping with. It's supported partially by United Way and is a secular organization.

Help

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

4. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
