Erik Deckers- You are a hard act to follow, but here it goes...

One. My name is Lisa Ralph, and I'm a Late Bloomer. I grew up around Evansville, and I had no idea who I was or what I wanted until I was about 35 years old. In high school I thought I wanted to be a legal secretary. I was shy and quiet until I was 26 years old. I didn't graduate from college until I was 30. I was somewhat of a train wreck. I'm making up for lost time now. I'm grateful that I came out of my shell and have a clear sense of purpose and direction.

Two. I love, love, love music. Electronica, Dance, Jazz, Classical, Rock and Alternative are my favorites. Discovering and listening to new music is very therapeutic. On New Year's Eve I attended the New York Philharmonic and was in heaven.

Three. Thrift shopping is another means of therapy. When I'm having a rough, crazy day, I can be found at a Goodwill digging for albums, art, dishes, books, handbags, and for any other exciting treasures. Oh, and garage sales, too. I wish it would warm up already. I'm getting garage sale fever!

Four. I am passionate about community service. I have been an active volunteer for 14 years. I especially enjoy working with women's and children's issues. I have been active with the Junior League, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Girls Inc. I am currently on the Board of Directors for Young Audiences of Indiana.

Five. I love a great dining experience. It doesn't matter if it's in or out. I enjoy cooking and creating an ambience and like discovering new places that offer great food, wine and ambience.

Six. I am a runner. Currently I am training for a half marathon that I will run next month in Austin, TX.

Seven. I am in a relationship with Ron Talbot, a wonderful man that I'm grateful to have met. He inspires me in so many ways. He is supportive and believes in me and my desire to make a major difference in the lives of many. He's also a pretty good running coach.

Ok...so Shawn Quick-Raflik tagged me for this...I'll try to come with 7 interesting things but I'll let you be the judge and jury of that.

1. I delivered my first born child at home, in our bathroom...No it was not by choice!

2. Before Greg Oden and Mike Conley were "Oden and Conley"...I had the opportunity to officiate one of their AAU basketball games when they were in 8th grade. Oden stood about 8 inches taller than me at 14 and I was around 30 years old at the time!

3. I saw a snake once on a golf course and my golfing buddies will tell you I screamed like my 9 year old daughter in fear.

4. I'm a reality TV junkie and I don't know why...

5. Cheese/Crackers and Salsa/Chips are my two late night snacks of choice.

6. In 1990 I was hit by a car that ran a red light going 60+MPH and walked away with just a bruise on my knee....and I didn't have a seatbelt on and still think that if I had started to make my left turn even a half second sooner, I'd be dead. Have worn my seatbelt ever since.

7. I HATE bees...hate EM! Will fight a bee in a heartbeat....HATE EM!

7 things:
1. Not much a blogger so I prefer email and will have someone blog for me. :-)
2. I was in a H.S. show choir that toured the south and performed at Disney World.
3. I have one son who is going to be 15 in May. Obviously I had him when I was 14. :-)
4. I am an extreme and savage fan for 3 sports College Footbal, Pro Football and Racing...in that order.
5. I have a several fav's: the color orange, pizza w/a Diet Coke chaser, the Golden Girls TV sitcom, sleeping in, staying up late, seeing the country by car.
6. I once drove to Cotton, Minnesota (100 miles south of Canada) just to ring in the new year somewhere I had never been.
7. I hate bugs of any kind and birds...pretty much anything that creeps, crawls, or buzzes around me. I once called 911 to get a duck out of my house who had fallen in thru my chimney.

Oh, and yep as Lorraine indicated, I've never won Dad of the Year. Got close to Dad of the Moment one time but I was usurped by a guy wearing a "Git 'Er Done" ball cap.

Lorraine Ball Comment by Lorraine Ball on January 23, 2009 at 7:25pm
Ok, so I am not going to win mother of the year, since I forgot to tag my daughter. Of course I know everything about her ( at least the things I want to know) but she was bummed, cause she wants to play, so here is an official tag for Michelle Ball

Of course, her dad didn't tag her either. Looks like we shouldn't count on her in our waning years....
