Who is more persuasive: Democrats or Republicans in their use of Social Media?

(Note: I altered the question because the first one I wrote was, well, stupid on my part).

Democrats and Republicans are waging ideological war on the healthcare front using weapons of social media:

Obama's healthcare site, which launched last month, has just begun to gain a critical mass of user-generated content. Called "Health Care Stories for America," it features an interactive Google map that pinpoints a few hundred personal stories about experiences with the American health-care system from across the country, and allows users to search by zipcode to see stories near them. Browsing the "recent stories" is a relatively apolitical exercise in heartbreak: Users have filled out paragraphs about a father lost to HMO coverage-denial, a sister suffering from a ski accident; a small-business employee with Hepatitis C. You can share your own story, tweet others, or publish one to Facebook; you can also donate money to Obama's cause.

The Republican response, called the Barack Obama Experiment, is a kind of video-blog that aims to make readers "nervous" about the Obama plan, according to Politico. The title of the site comes from a memo by an RNC consultant who has been advising party leaders on how to slow down the White House's march toward reform, including the controversial "public option" where the government would compete with private insurance companies.

The site, sparse and basic and without any of the flash of Obama's expert Web projects, acts as a cache of YouTube videos of party chairman Michael Steele's appearances on television, with a smattering of commercials. To be exact: two Steele videos and one commercial. Yes, there are only three videos on the site, which was launched four days ago, and doesn't look as if it's been updated since. It is a point well taken that the Dems efforts is "Slicker." Hearkens back to "Slick Willie."

Are Democrats simply smarter than Republicans?

...or are they simply more-dependent on propaganda, nuance, obfuscation, and deceit? If the message is clear and would be popular if understood, say it clearly. If the message is murky or malevolent, spin it. If that's unlikely, try this one:

...or do they just think we're idiots? (That, of course, goes for all our rulers, regardless of party. That's why they feel comfortable taking all our money and then making all our decisions for us.)

Amen Tim. Advertising isn't just for ads anymore! The design elements used for Obama's campaign for the presidency were some of the best I've ever seen. However I did research before jumping on the Obama bandwagon, as opposed to saying "LOOK AT THAT SPIFFY "O!" I like this guy! I'm in!"

It's interesting how the Rebublican site asks you to "Share your fears" as opposed to the democrats asking you to "Share your stories." Fear seems to be the way of the conservative right. Not that Obama has the market on hope, but fear does not inspire hope in me and republicans don't inspire anything in me anymore.

Reading these posts makes me a little uncomfortable at the strong opinions out there.
I'm not sure who is more persuasive but I have learned one thing, We will only truly become enlightened when we realize that no matter how strong our beliefs we only have part of the story, and the other side always has something important to contribute to the solution. It bothers me quite a bit to see so much negativity towards each political party. I don't see what it accomplishes. We have to learn to put ourselves in each others shoes and understand the others perspective and move forward from there.

I saw the post with the disrespectful comment about democrats just being smarter, that put me in an outrage because Social Media is not a matter of intelligence, yes the Republican party has been on the tail end of learning social media, anyone think about the concept that the majority of the people inside of the democratic party are in the social media arena? Yes republicans need to gain some ground on this but because of the funding and resources that are needed to develop these habitual use of social media, it's hard.
Do the democrats have many people who know social media, yes. Are the republicans "not as smart" for not having that kind of backing? no. See intelligence isn't about which one is more persuasive. Deceitful people are very persuasive. Intelligence is choosing the right stance on an issue, where in the case of Republicans(Conservatives), I believe they currently take the right stance on the issues.
The media has been helpful in electing someone as a president that was less qualified than the Republican Vice President nominee. So the question truly is, is it wise for someone to take the consistent liberal media(including Social Media) and take their views to the polling office without researching information from places other than a one sided media source?

bottom line, Dems attract the youth vote, the youth are tech savvy so the dems are better at using technology since they've got a team that is comfortable with it.

It's not about intelligence, it's about demographics.

Clearly, the reason is due to the dems now having access to secret whitehouse files. They have access to area 51 and can use all that advanced alien social media technology (like google maps, social networks, auto-tweeters, and email delivered via truck).

Seriously, I did see a comment from Steve Stuck that we should read the bill, and I agree. A link to the entire 600+ pages should be posted on both sites, it's not a secret.

Just think of the lost productivity that IN commerce has sacrificed by all of us (myself included) voicing opinions and thoughts on this site (knowing that nothing is going to come from it other than good conversation/debate). Imagine how much $$$ and production would be made if we added up all the hours that were spent writing these posts multiplied by what we get paid per hour...
