Making people and ideas findable

Jennifer Padgett

Where do you go to jump start you creativity and get out of a rut?

I do graphic and web design, but day in day out I just some days I feel I have the need to hang with more creatives, go to book stores and look a print mags of just surf the web. Not only to get out of a slump but to motivate me and keep me updated. Anyone got any great ideas or would you like to share what you do when you are in a slump?

I know there are more of you out there with great ideas can you help a girl out?

I feel a surprising boost in creativity when I visit museums that help me look at the world through new lenses. I haven't been to many locally yet, but I had a great time at the Field Museum in Chicago last weekend. The Minneapolis Institute of Art was always inspiring, too. Even the Children's Museum can unleash some creativity in adults!

How about organizing and SI meetup just for that purpose or putting together a conference or fair just for that purpose?

Going to the SI meetups is a great way to put you in the midst of like-minded people who will give yo ideas on where to go, what to do and how to reach beyond the limit of the sky!

Hi Jennifer,
I love Twitter for inspiring creativity & motivation.
Use the search option with any keyword (I prefer Tweet Deck).

I always thought you could just look at a Mac and it would inspire you. HaHa!

My wife, Kristi, is a children's book illustrator and she uses IllustrationFriday.com to sometimes get a jumpstart. It gives a topic each week and you are to illustrate something based on that topic by Friday. Pretty cool concept.
