Making people and ideas findable

Milo Curtis and myself have been planning a new blog that should be up and running by the end of this month... It is called NeoPraxis. The definition of neopraxis is simply: new practice.

We will be tag-teaming on a blog devoted to the concept of using social media in building new membership and strengthening current membership in the church. Milo will be writing about the concept of using social media in the church and I will be writing about social media ideas and tips.

Every Friday will have a guest blogger write about their experiences and ideas for using social media in the church.

Below you will find an image of the logo design for the blog. Let me know your thoughts, suggestions, and feelings. Would love to hear them!

Love it. Love it. The font has just enough curve on the strokes to be playful and the person is inspired.

The logo works for the little I know about it. Is there any reason for the word "oX" to stand out so boldly. It almost reads "ox.com". If there isn't, I would suggest looking for another route, or capitalize on it in some way if you must keep it this way. The logo is clearly leading the viewer to neopraxis.com, so I believe you did that well.

Again, I would need more information on your target, and the purpose for collecting such target, before any real criticism can be applied. From what you have shared though, I believe it works fine. Give me a reason to make it stand out, and I can give you some suggestions in a next step.

I like it Kyle. It's funny, I actually didn't initially see the word "ox" in blue at first - I saw it as a person. The o being the head and the X the body.

i also see that as a person.. perhaps im missing the relavence to the word "ox"

Same here, I saw the oX as a person. I like it. Nice job Kyle.

Love it. I think the OX, will be a fun graphic which can stand alone as well. Nicely done

I like it! Since I am always giving the embroidery advise, then here it is. . . I think it would work for embroidery at a later date. The only questionable part is the ".com" but I think it could be done as is without much change. Good luck!

I love it. Very good job!

I really like the little person with the o and x! And I like that the eye is drawn down to the .com.

Since you said it was for a church, I was looking for the X to be a cross and didn't see the 'person' until later.

It looks really good, but it doesn't intuitively communicate the purpose of the site to me. It's a name only; I suggest that you continue to explore ways to announce the purpose of the site, along with the address, in order to attract greater attention. I don't think I'd be inclined to visit the site if I happened across just this banner, unless I had a LOT of time on my hands.

Good luck!

Bill

Love the idea and the name. Can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve.
