Seventeen years ago today. I brought a beautiful baby girl into this world. I love you Mandy and I pray that you are well. I'm here when you're ready to meet me and talk.

My favorite Thanksgiving day memory is of 8 years ago, when my Mother turned age 80, she announced that this would be her last year for hosting Thanksgiving. We, as a family, had always got together at Mom's. She said she wanted her last "hosting" to be special, and it was. We ALL gathered at a local banquet hall she rented. I am the youngest of 8 kids, so there were a bunch of us there! Mom had the food catered, hired musicians for live music and hired a magician too! We played games, fellowshiped and of course, ate a lot.
Since that time, myself, one of my sisters and one of my Nephew's, have been taking turns hosting Thanksgiving day. Today, my wife Carol and I are hosting; looking forward to a great day with family and wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving!

It shouldn't be hard to get all of my family members together, since there's only a handful of us, but we're scattered across the country. A few years ago, all of us managed to converge at my great-grandmother's house in Kentucky. It was an amazing Thanksgiving, but not my favorite because every year we seem to add one more person to our little brood. So Happy Thanksgiving everyone! May they get better and better.

My best Thanksgiving memory is easy. Two years ago, my then boyfriend Robby and I were enjoying a quiet Thanksgiving meal, including the two of us, my dad, my Aunt Jane, our puppy, and a giant turkey. Robby broke out the camera, took pictures of the spread (yes, he's obsessed with photography, food, and food photography), and then we all sat down to pray and eat. As we finished praying and I started to serve myself some salad, Robby continued to talk, saying how thankful he was to have such an amazing woman come into his life and how much he couldn't imagine living without her... as he slid to one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course my answer was unintelligible but in the affirmative. And my aunt used the strategically placed camera to snap some really amazing pictures. Later I found out that the local jeweler where Robby custom-designed my ring had come to the shop THAT MORNING to deliver my ring in time! Truly a magical feast...

This year makes the fondest. It is my first year cooking for my immediate family and it was an honor!!! The turkey came out perfect and it wasn't dry (lol). All of the sides were delicious (my family said so, of course). As for fondest childhood memory it would be seeing all of my family (cousins included) fit into my uncle's three bedroom home. My family is huge. I am the youngest of 10. To this day I do not know how we did it, but we did and it was great.

Two: Thanksgiving, as a child, seated around the dining room table with my entire family. But
yesterday is in my memory book as Number One. All my children and their significant others, one
of my sisters with her significant other and five of our friends gathered in my home for an evening Thanksgiving meal. My husband and I did most of the cooking. We cooked 30 lbs of turkey and ham; made mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry relish, oyster dressing, cheese cake, red velvet cake,
home made rolls, yams ... Two of my daughters got here early and helped with the dinner; another brought the green bean casserole.

While our children lived at home, we dined early in the day. Now, they visit their in-laws and fiances'
families first, leaving me till last. But I have been rewarded for my patience and forebearance.
Everyone was relaxed, and with no where to rush off to, all our guests stayed till midnight, filling our home with laughter and stories over flickering candle light and some of our favorite foods. Yesterday
is my fondest Thanksgiving memory.
