Seven Lucky Smoosiers Can Win Tickets to the Senior Open
US Senior Open Coming to Crooked Stick in Carmel July 27 to Aug 2, and Smaller Indiana has tickets to give away! (Special thanks to Smoosier, Angelo Peduto, of Circle City Tickets for making this possible)

Here's how you can win the tickets

We'd like to see these tix used by a wide variety of Smoosiers. If you're interested in winning the tix, please post a reply to this thread and let us know how you intend to use them. We'll pick seven winners - one winner for each day of the event - for seven completely different reasons... the seven most original, sincere, funny, heart wrenching, practical, surprising, ridiculous posts could win...so tell us why you want to go:

Your reasons can be explained in brief, or at length. You can use visual aids. Whatever.

Examples:
- Will you be bringing a client?
- Will you be having a date with your spouse?
- Bringing your camera to get some great shots of players or scenery?
- Bringing a video camera to get an interview with a player? (keep in mind that cameras are only permitted during Mon - Wed practice rounds.
- Can't afford tickets to anything else these days?
- Just want to wander around on Crooked Stick and talk to the geese?
- Tell us your original reason why you should win the tickets. Maybe we'll pick you.

We'll read all replies posted by Friday, July 17, and award 2 tix to 7 different Smoosiers

Each winner will win a pair of tickets for one of the seven days of golf. And each winner PROMISES TO RETURN TO SMALLER INDIANA TO BLOG ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES. This is key. You gotta come back and tell us how it went - and share your photos / videos if you got 'em. That's a prerequisite!!

Schedule for the week
The players play practice rounds from Monday through Wedesday, and the actual tournament runs Thursday through Sunday. Parking is Free. We do have Pete Dye hospitality tent passes. And kids under 17 can enter free. Here's a link to more info

I have never been to a Pro Golf Tournament in my life. I would like to experience it once in my life. Also, I started an insurance agency a year ago and I would like to take my first customer to show my appreciation.

I have saved for over two years for a DSLR camera. I finally have one! I really would love the opportunity to take some great shots.

I would love to take my husband to this!!! He is retired and golfs almost everyday. He plays in an amauter golf league in Evansville and I would love for him to see the real thing. I would tag along taking pictures to scrapbook the experience.

Thanks for the opportunity

With all the golfing Smoosiers here, I thought I'd let you know about a new site developed by a Smoosier- http://www.hoosiercaddy.com/. I'm sure he'd love to have you all join and review the courses you've played, and especially the winners of these tickets, the US Senior Open!

My Father started taking me to PGA & LPGA golf tournaments in 1977 to watch Ben Crenshaw, Tom Watson, Nancy Lopez and Betsy King. We had a lot of great memories. My Dad would be mistaken for Nancy Lopez's Dad in the gallery at times and we ended up meeting her family at a Corning tournament. He is passed away now, but would be proud that I will always have a love of golf because of him. In 2005, I had just had our youngest child when Crooked Stick was hosting the Solheim Cup. I attempted to drive over to the course, but was not physically able to watch the matches. My dream would be to take my oldest daughter to the U.S. Open this year. She is almost 14, the age I was when my Dad would take me to tournaments. She has a natural swing and ability for golf and what an opportunity to see the greatest players who ever lived up close! It would be incredible to make and relive memories and have her experience a part of history.

Thank You, Karla

I will probably die of old age... someday. Before I go, my last wish (of 17 wishes so far today) is to go to the 2009 US Senior Open. I need to find out why I don't understand life, and up-close observation of professionals playing a game so wrought with life metaphors would give me enormous insight. I've heard things like, "three strokes and you're out"... "In life and business, you have to drive the cart for the touchdown..." And "there's a bogie at 10 o'clock". What does it all mean?

I'm not a philosopher. And I'd really like to go.

My teenage daughters can't believe I watch golf on TV and enjoy it! To either prove to them how fun golf can be, or to provide memories of being bored out of their skulls that they can share with their future boyfriends, husbands, and therapists, I'd love to take them.

I still would like to invite Fuzzy Zoeller over for fried chicken and greens. If any of you guys/gals talk to him, let him know I'm looking for him:)
