Making people and ideas findable

Senator Evan Bayh will be returning home next week for the August recess.

I would like to know your answer to the following two questions:
1) IF a town hall meeting can be organized on the Senator's calendar, will you attend? Yes or No
2) We're likely to have little notice to coordinate the event. Will you make it a priority? Yes or No

Thanks all!

Just where were these events advertised? No, I did not attend. Any others on this thread know of these events? Perhaps they were VERY poorly attended because nobody knew of them?

Can you provide a link to the postings of these events? They're conspicuously m.i.a. from his Web site. Odd... Perhaps there was no desire to have an audience?

Yes I would be very interested. Being a HIT Consultant in Indiana, this would be a very important meeting for me and my clients. Hopefully this can be something that will be scheduled.

Yes to BOTH questions, a majority of Americans want – or should I say desperately need – healthcare reform. As long as it's Kindly, politely discussed and debated with an open-mind on both sides and not this traveling circus drowning out with noise or yells of "Socialism" and birther nonesense. I'm pretty sure Sen. Bayh will vote with Wellpoint and Lilly and against this, but it's still important to attend and have my voice heard.

David-a relative of mine was in a hospital and put on a morphine drip and denied food and water...because he was ready to "die." This was done without any family o.k. After making a lot of noise, his food and water was restored. He eventually did die but not on the hospital's time table. Why would any senior who loves life want to put their health care in the hands of the government. Read the bill. The government is responsible for determining levels of care. So if people get spirited about it , there may be some acrimonious debate. What is wrong with that? They may be defending their own life.

The traveling circus, as you call it. is a direct result of anyone who disagrees with the current flow of what the government wants and what you want "healthcare reform",is immediately pushed off the stage by anti free speech folks like yourself, who dismiss those who disagree with you as a traveling circus.

What you call healthcare reform, I call a government run rationing program for people's health care. And I hope you continue to be uncomfortable with the traveling circus. Perhaps they may save your life from a government run rationing program of health care.

I am so sorry about your relative and hold his memory in the light. I am not anti-free speech. I would die for your right to be as wrong as you currently are, but louder does not equal more right. Screaming and yelling and calling people liers do nothing for a debate but make me worry about the future of our country and public education. Do we not have debates in school anymore?

I'm a Democrat, a Christian Friend (Quaker). Try to come at this from a tact of mercy, kindness and equality. Find reasons for it as well as against it. I have been a healthcare proponent for 20 years. It goes to who I am as a person and who I am as a Christian.

Thank you for your comment and again I'm sorry for your relative, but instead of shaking your fists in anger, wouldn't he (maybe) want you to turn his situation to reform? This bill has provisions to talk about end of life measures. NOT we will end your life or not end your life when we decide to. It's about living wills and letting your Dr. and healthcare professionals know in advance your wish for either DNR or take all measures to keep me alive. Either way. If it's not respected, then it's written down and the family can take measures. Neither Obama, or I or anyone I know in support of reform are talking about killing people or keeping people's bodies alive when it's time for them to go and making them needlessly suffer. Peace.

I will be there and look forward to the discussion.

If the intention is to make this a Town Hall Meeting not necessarily "State of the Art", but at least technologically up to date, and include Internet access of some kind, so that interested parties who cannot be physically present can nonetheless participate, then a sounding "Yes!" To both of the questions above.
