Making people and ideas findable

Senator Evan Bayh will be returning home next week for the August recess.

I would like to know your answer to the following two questions:
1) IF a town hall meeting can be organized on the Senator's calendar, will you attend? Yes or No
2) We're likely to have little notice to coordinate the event. Will you make it a priority? Yes or No

Thanks all!

I have called his office and left a voicemail. They are open until 6pm, although no one is answering the phone. I would encourage everyone who cares to do the same. As Ron stated earlier, Senator Bayh's office # is 202-224-5623.

I have lots of ideas and my experience in this industry might prove helpful, I just hope someone is actually listening.

Well it looks like many people are listening just not our great senator..... Ron I applaud you for your efforts and I know this must be disheartening for you after so much work.

It is sad that he couldn't take 30 minutes out of his day to talk to smoosiers. I had great hopes that Evan would be a great Hoosier such as his father. Unfortunetly it appears he has been bit by the carreer politician bug.

Thank you once again for all of your work.

Reply to This

Yes, disheartening but much more DISAPPOINTING. Clearly the Senator is either simply too busy for us lowly Hoosiers or just doesn't think this is a big deal. Too busy?

I have tried unsuccessfully for years to get Senator Bayh's ear on issues ranging from healthcare to medicare and more. Senator Bayh is so far out of touch with People in general, let alone people in this state, let alone the collective brainpower of 1/100th of Smaller Indiana is greater than 10x the brainpower and creativity of our entire Congress.

Ron, If you could have pulled that off, I would have paid for tickets to you and your family to go visit ROME for a week... ( home school educational trip of course )

Senator Bayh knows as much about "job creation" as my pet rock, his knowlege about healthcare is even less.

Wake up America.... of the first 500 pages... here are some issues with the new HEALTHCARE REFORM BILL

If you don't have the time to read the whole Healthcare or deathcare bill, it's not a problem. The work has already been done for you. WAKE UP! :
If you haven't seen any of this stuff, be prepared to be shocked.

A few highlights from the first 500 pages of the Healthcare bill in congress

Contact your Representatives and let them know how you feel about this. We, as a country, cannot afford another 1000 page bill to go through congress without being read. Another 500 pages to go. I have highlighted a few of the items that are down right unconstitutional.

I personally would love to, if it fits into my work schedule. I am a Hoosier currently on the HIP plan (Healthy Indiana Plan) which could be in jeopardy if national health insurance is offered. Although I DO believe that everyone has the right to AFFORDABLE health insurance (and $350 per month for private insurance was not affordable for me), I don't think Washington has yet to come up with a good plan. The Dems have an "overall" plan but can't seem to give us specifics and I have yet to hear of any plan at all from the Reps. Something definitely needs to be done but a complete overhaul in one fell swoop? I don't see that happening. A better idea might be to federally-fund the under-funded state programs already in place so more people can be insured (currently HIP is no longer taking single applicants due to demand exceeding budget). BTW, many small businesses would love to offer insurance to their employees but private insurance is way too expensive for most small businesses. There is a built-in way for small businesses to help pay or completely pay the monthly expense for their qualified employees through HIP.

Democrats hold a fillibuster proof Congress and have a 60 vote Senate. They could easily pass the bill without any Republican/Indepedent vote if they think this bill is so great.

How pathetic....

Assumption: all democrats vote the same way.
