Making people and ideas findable

Senator Evan Bayh will be returning home next week for the August recess.

I would like to know your answer to the following two questions:
1) IF a town hall meeting can be organized on the Senator's calendar, will you attend? Yes or No
2) We're likely to have little notice to coordinate the event. Will you make it a priority? Yes or No

Thanks all!

Yes and Yes.

Depends, has he read the bill?

What Bill?

The Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act?

Pretty sure he'll have one. The rest of them are. I might come if he does.

I think it's needed. Yes.

I think it's a good idea. Hopefully the "yell a bunch of nonsense" crowd doesn't feel the need to show up though.

Yeah a group of patriots who love liberty, democracy, the sanctity of life, and believe in free speech would ruin it. Read the bill all 1017 pages and maybe you will understand what all the noise is about. You might want to diversify your news information source ABC (All Barack Channel) NBC (National Barack Channel) CBS (Complete Barack Station) are not the best sources of truth.

This hardly seems to be the forum for such malignant polemic. Talk about Smaller Indiana. Sheesh!

I guess suggesting that reading a bill is "polemic"?

Reply to This

Not at all, but when enshrouded in sarcasm & presumption, as this poster featured, the suggestion is lost in the haze, if you will. Few seem to be able to debate this issue civilly (admittedly, myself included, at times) without degrading into ideological flamestorms.

In other words, you disagree with him so what he is saying is both cancerous and controversial? Please. The reason people can't debate civilly is that they aren't willing to listen to the other side and start to look for common ground. Health care is bankrupting people, industry and government - there's plenty we have in common.

I'm saying he is a sarcastic jerk, who MIGHT have some valid points but they get lost in the BS (to wit, the Obama channels). If he stopped after sentence #2 and didn't wax noxiously pedantic, I'd have not popped into the fray. I never said I wasn't looking for common ground. Ever. I think he has otherwise valid points. Do you?

By the by, lest you pigeonhole me as a leftie: I am a very conservative voter (I still rate Nixon as a great POTUS, e.g., his screw job on health care notwithstanding), who happens to believe in much of the progressive platform these days. But the Dems are a disappointing lot.

Ack...Buttholes like you just itch for a fight. I've got better things to do with my life.
