The World Championships are the pinnacle of more than 100 live competitions nationwide by some 5,000 young musician-athletes who have competed all summer for the chance to vie for world champion honors in Indy. The corps of up to 150 brass musicians, percussionists and dance performers ages 14 to 22 will dazzle you with spellbinding visual formations and stunning choreography set to musical arrangements of rock, classical, jazz and pop… from Coldplay and Leonard Bernstein to Samuel Barber and Evanesence. It’s really thrilling, world class entertainment. You seriously don’t want to miss it!
Drum Corps International’s World Championships is the newest addition to Indianapolis’ world class scene. It’s part of a new community initiative that’s been building momentum quietly behind the scenes called Music Crossroads. The mission is to advance quality of life by attracting, supporting and collaborating with leading national and international performing arts organizations. Thought Smoosiers, known as a group that cares about building community, culture and commerce, would be interested.
