Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Pro Blog Service is expanding into a new small business blogging venture, and we're looking for a skilled writer to manage our client blogs. We're a corporate blogging and social media provider for a number of clients in Indiana, and are beginning to work with small businesses both in and outside the state. We're looking for someone who can write well, plays well on the Internet and social media, and knows how to have fun.

This is an entry-level position (0 - 2 years experience), and candidates must have strong writing skills. We're not concerned about majors. If you can write well, we want to talk to you. If you're not as strong on the technical side of blogging, don't worry, we'll teach you. Social media experience, especially Twitter and Facebook is helpful, but not necessary. (But we're not kidding about the writing skills.)

Responsibilities and Skills:

• Write 4 - 6 blog posts per day, each about 400 - 500 words, and publish to the clients' blogs.
• Promote posts through clients' social networks.
• Keep up with news in clients' industries. Create posts based on news articles
• Interview clients about important topics. Write posts based on those interviews.
• Have basic working knowledge of blogging software like WordPress.com, Blogger, or Compendium Blogware.
• Know one of the following editorial styles: AP, APA, or Chicago. (Okay, we'll accept MLA, but we're not crazy about it.)
• Can work from home, but be available to meet other staff at various locations around the city.

Please send a PDF version of your resume and three writing samples (PDFs) OR links to blog writing or web samples to erik at problogservice dot com. If you don't have any writing samples, we'll accept school papers and spec articles.

Hi Erik,

I may be a little more experienced than you were seeking--but I'll send along some samples of a blog I am writing for currently. Good service you are providing--and much needed. I have lots of posts on "new" media and technology and will send links your way via email above.

Sounds good, Diane. Looking forward to seeing it.

Erik,

I would be interested. I recently just started writing blogs on my SM profile and I'm in my infancy of blogging, but I thoroughly enjoy it. I would love to learn more about the technologies...as technology continues to grow I'm struggling to keep up and this would be an awesome way to learn, grow and keep up with the times. I have an endless appetite for knowledge and love researching new industries and building relationships with people.

Anywho... is this a paid position or non-paid?
