The Online Marketing Manager will be responsible for e-mail marketing, affiliate marketing, and building and managing an outsourced team of search marketing professionals. This key position requires creativity, passion, and a marketing mind with a quantitative approach to web mastering. Additionally, candidates with experience in affiliate marketing or email marketing, including segmentation and testing, Google Analytics, social networks and viral marketing are preferred, but we will consider training a motivated candidate that is eager to learn (this includes entry level candidates).
Responsibilities:
Email Marketing
- Assist in the development of our strategy for each of our stores, including subscriber acquisition (prospective and current customers), segmentation, A/B testing, and conversion optimization; achieve aggressive monthly revenue goals and ROI targets for program
- Perform detailed analysis across campaigns and segments and provide tactical recommendations based on analysis that will increase effectiveness
- Work closely with both the Creative Lead and E-commerce Developer to review email design, layout, and copy
- Monitor, track and report campaign performance to Senior Management Team
- Conduct rigorous quality assurance testing on campaigns prior to launch
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing to establish success metrics
- Monitor industry trends
- Monitor and manage campaigns using Google Analytics – spot trends and propose solutions
Affiliate Marketing
- Develop and manage the affiliate program for each of our stores; achieve aggressive monthly revenue goals and ROI targets for program
- Strategize awareness, acquisition and retention tactics to achieve targets
- Forecast revenue and manage budget; monitor performance and adjust plans to address any necessary changes
- Build affiliate network and partners; develop relationships with key affiliates, and negotiate for better placement and visibility
- Manage outsourced SEM and affiliate marketing team
- Develop and execute affiliate promotions and monitor success; develop future promotions based on findings
- Evaluate revenue share and commission structure and recommend adjustments
- Report on results weekly and monthly, including key business metrics and trends/shifts in results
- Respond to and resolve affiliate inquiries and concerns
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing to establish success metrics
- Monitor industry trends
Qualifications:
- Strategic thinking with serious analytical and problem solving skills

- Flexibility and strong adaptation to a rapidly changing environment
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with many concurrent campaigns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive, people-oriented and energetic
- Interest in online retail
- Knowledge or interest in search marketing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to identify and manage outsourced vendors
- Highly-driven, self-motivated, and independent work ethic
- Demonstrated understanding of email marketing best practices and affiliate marketing is a plus
- Knowledge of email metrics including open rates, bounce rates, SPAM complaints (not the canned kind) and best practices in email marketing and deliverability (a plus, but not required)
- Proficiency with email service provider software for deployment and analytics (a plus, but not required)
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, advertising or related field
