Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Last year, as some may recall, I blogged on Smaller Indiana about Indianapolis construction management company, Catalyst CMI and their guys wearing pink hardhats in support of breast cancer awareness. Since that date, I've become friends with Catalyst's Business Development guy, John Lerchen, and he has also become a Smoosier.

This year, they are inviting everyone to join their team for the Race for the Cure. Why should you join their team? Because you will not only be a part of Komen's annual fundraiser to find the cure for breast cancer, but you will also receive one of Catalyst's pink hardhats!

Here is the link for more info from Catalyst: http://www.catalystcmi.com/news.html

Even if you do not join Catalyst, please consider either walking or running in the race taking place on April 18, or making a donation to the Komen Foundation.

Is everyone here convinced that the Komen organization is actually doing all the right things to truly further the cause of fighting breast cancer?

I had to do a research project a couple years ago, and learned some disturbing things about them.

After just going through breast cancer with my Mother, I'm curious about what you learned.

I was impressed with the studies that are taking place, and feel like there is great progress being made with the disease. I have not heard anything adverse...

I don't believe any organization does all the right things for any cause or concern. The Komen organization included. I have however witnessed - first hand - a great deal of what the Komen organization does to not only help fight breast cancer, but to raise prevention awareness and provide support for those undergoing treatment and recovery.
