Making people and ideas findable

over the last couple of years, i've noticed a consistent flight pattern for late arriving planes to Indianapolis International Airport...starting about 11:30 and continuing for an hour a conga line of jets forms over my house heading sw towards IND...when i'm up reading, or browsing SI at that hour, i usually detect the faint sounds of aircraft streaming overhead...but tonight, thanks to the rain and low-hanging clouds, these jets are buzzing my house like the Blue Angels on a Mt. Comfort run...it sounds as if they are landing on I-69 between the 126th St and Cumberland Rd bridges...that's not an emergency landing strip, btw...

that's right, i live in east fishers and the jets are rumbling my house as if i were in plainfield...is there a reason they are approaching so low from so far out? are the air traffic computers all goofed up again, or something?

This the season for shipments by air express carriers UPS and FedEx and most shipments arrive overnight to the airport. I would expect there is a backup of planes approaching the airport for landing and that this will subside in January.

yeah, i got to thinking about it after my post, linda, and i figured they must be fedex planes...but they were flying dangerously low through fog and low-hanging clouds...have they regressed to landing the planes by visual contact? it was eerie last night...and loud enough to keep me awake...and it's not like i live close to the airport (at least not IND...i'm much closer to mt. comfort airport and their planes don't keep me awake)!
