My name is Kate Williams, and I am Special Projects Coordinator at the Indianapolis Peace Institute, a local 501 (c) 3 non-profit. I just joined Smaller Indiana, and am excited at the ability to advertise upcoming community events that the Institute is hosting. I have been able to advertise our "Social Networking (with a Soul)" series that takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month, and have already heard from people who found out about the activity on Smaller Indiana. It has provided me a great opportunity to reach my target market of young professionals interested in community issues, and I look forward to developing more contacts!

Smaller Indiana has definitely helped us connect (and stay connected) with a large group of technically savvy marketers and new media professionals. We've found a pool of talent that we've tapped for our budding blogging and social media conference, Blog Indiana. Not only are we able to connect with great talent to lead our workshops and panel discussions, we are better able to provide relevant conference sessions through monitoring and participating in the many focused group discussions on Smaller Indiana. Recruitment is a whole other area I tend to forget about, but I'll be lots of Smoosiers have found new employees and vendors through SI. Thanks for the reminder...and glad to hear SI has helped your Blog Indiana event.

Baby is doing well! She is eating more and more and slowly starting to sleep a little longer during the night. Still sleep deprived, but her smiles more than make up for it. :)

My name is Cissi Sherlock and just yesterday, my community outreach organization graduated from being a church ministry to being a viable entity recognized by the IRS and headed to the status of 501c3.

My organization is called Operation "OpenUP!" Our goal is to help disenfranchised people in our community have a connection to needed services by providing them with free recycled cell phones and low cost activations so that they don't miss important phone calls for the services they need.

I've belonged to a high-powered community consortium for about three years. I was invited to join the group for the purpose of helping to grow my outreach program. In that time, there was no visible growth that I or other members of my organization could see.

After joining Smaller Indiana over a year ago, the first thing that happened was that I made friends! And, not only were they friend on the Internet, we shared face time with our groups and other networking entities and functions. As friends and as business constituents, we started forming partnerships outside Smaller Indiana and getting jobs, as well as getting the job done.

I met such great people as Lou Begnel, who threw himself into the growth of Operation "OpenUP!", Amy Stark and Shawn Quick-Raflik, Karen Wolfley who helped me put on a fundraiser, Chris Flener who has been my employer for the last year and we have several other things on tap for the future, Ben McCann whom God sent to me as an angel on earth. He helped me to redesign my Ning and expanded my world by doing so. Then there are my buddies Scott Emmet, David Mark, Steve Stuck, Duke Snyder, Mike and Amy Magan, Annie Sever-Dimitri and the many who brighten my day by being a part of my group "make me Laugh -Show me the FUNNY!"

These people and other members of Smaller Indiana have been my friends, have kept me sane, have donated phones to Operation "OpenUP!", have helped me grow my organization and have just brought a smile to my face. In turn, I have referred several people to SI.

I could say so much more! Thanks to Smaller Indiana, I hope to continue to grow my organization and my friends.

Again, I am Cissi Sherlock, Founder and Director of Operation "OpenUP!" and this is my Smaller Indiana success story!

My name is Bj Davis; I own Bjava Coffee and Tea. Smaller Indiana has helped me connect with people looking for locally owned businesses to hold small gatherings, and meetings.
Many of the people I have met on Smaller Indiana have become regular customers for my fresh roasted coffee for their own use and as corporate gifting.

I have also connected with others in businesses for which I have used their services.
