Making people and ideas findable

With the advent of Twitter lists and retweeting available via the web has your usage of Twitter switched as well? Do you find yourself visiting and using http://twitter.com more than you used to? If you have never used a 3rd party Twitter app why not?

I set up lists on Twitter.com just to learn the practice of it, but I've been hooked on TweetDeck ever since I started using it. I will venture over to HootSuite when I need to schedule messages, but TweetDeck is my main app. I've heard they will be "importing" lists soon. Then I'd never need to go to Twitter.com again. . . at least until a new feature is added.

Chuck I havent gone to the web and produced any lists as of yet but plan to soon. I have issues with TweetDeck not posting messages and not posting messages to the correct groups. Some of my old issues with Tweetdeck have been resolved in the latest release thankfully. I love being able to track bit.ly links via the API key on Tweetdeck however. I think the website is getting better at keeping people off of 3rd party apps.

The bit.ly integration in TweetDeck is huge.

Twitter's retweet function leaves a lot to be desired. I rarely use Twitter.com but instead use UberTwitter on my phone or HootSuite on my laptop. Both provide extensive functionality that Twitter.com does not. If Twitter.com would up their ante to match the 3rd party apps, I'd switch!

Pamela I have heard the same thing about the new retweet function but think its a step in the right direction.

I use hootsuite all the time, but I checked out the lists feature on twitter.com when it first released. To be honest, that and the RT feature are not enough for me to go to twitter.com.

Rocky do you use hootsuite for multiple accounts or for link tracking functions? Ive found more people that use hootsuite do so because they enjoy the web Twitter experience to 3rd party apps. I find myself wondering why I dont use Twitter.com more with the new features but sounds like they are lacking from the early response.

I use TweetDeck, Hootsuite, and twitter.com. I use TweetDeck most of the time. But, if I need to schedule posts or want to "track" certain items, I use Hootsuite. I have a smart phone that is not an IPhone so I have to use twitter.com from my phone.

Victoria did you know you can track links pretty easily through Tweetdeck? You can sign up for a http://bit.ly account. Then go to Tweetdeck settings and enter your bit.ly account login and password. After that click get bit.ly API key. Once you have that key entered into Tweetdeck it will allow you to login to your bit.ly account and track any link posted through Tweetdeck. You could easily see which account (personal or work) gets more click throughs by posting a seperate bit.ly link to the same article from each of your accounts. I was on twitter.com via mobile web on a friends phone last night and found it hard to use. I'm liking Power Twitter for Twitter via the web on Firefox on my desktop.
