Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

President Elect, Obama, is calling for town hall meetings to discuss health care reform. Smaller Indiana is trying to help... we got a copy of the town hall suggested questions and created this survey for Smoosiers.

And we listed the same questions (below) for Smoosiers to discuss in this forum.

Please pick one (or more) of these questions and share your thoughts here.

1.What do you think is the biggest problem in the health system?

2. How do you choose a doctor or hospital? Where do you get information in
making that decision? How should public policy promote quality health care providers?

3. Have you or your family members experienced difficulty paying medical bills? How
can policy makers address this problem?

4. In addition to employer-based coverage, would you like the option to purchase a
private plan through an insurance-exchange or a public plan like Medicare?

5. Do you know how much you or your employer pays for health insurance? What
should employer’s role be in a reformed health care system?

6. Are you familiar with the types of preventive services Americans should receive?
Have you gotten the recommended prevention? If not, how can public policy help?

7. How can public policy promote healthier lifestyles?

Once again I'm disappointed with the bias of this survey.

The last question on the polldaddy.com survery (linked to from above) asks for whom you voted for president.

Only two names are printed out as options (in addition to a write in choice, and "didn't vote" and "won't tell" options).

Meanwhile all ballots in Indiana had three names very clearly printed on them as choices (in addition to the choice of write-in).

I'm wondering why this survey felt it necessary to exclude a candidate that the state of Indiana thought worthy to actually print on every ballot in the state.

My bad. I didn't know the Libertarian candidate's name off the top of my head, and was in a bit of a hurry.

Now I know its Bob Barr

So far 95 people have completed the survey.

4 people have written in Bob Barr or Libertarian in the "other" category.

14 people have chosen not to answer

1 person didn't vote.

The rest all voted for Obama (45) or McCain (31)

Can you send me another link to the survey, please?

There's a link in the introduction of this forum thread...did you try that?

If not, here it is again: survey

Actually, I took the survey already.

I wanted to link some friends of mine to it, but it only took me to the "Thanl YOu" page since I have fininshed the survey.

I need them to link to page 1.

Thank, Pat

Hey Pat!

It's still sending me to the last page. I want to do the actual link. Can you help me?

Same link. It's recognizing your computer and giving you the "thank you page" send them the link. It should work.

Tom Daschle will lead the Federal 'fix' of healthcare, Lord Help Us!
Might as well leave any conservative/Libertarian ideas at home.

Are we going to get to see some samples of people's response to the survey to get an Idea of what Smoosiers think? It would be interesting to see some of the highlights.

Yes. I'll post the raw data tomorrow. It'll be in an .xls sheet
