Making people and ideas findable

Have any business owners tried Google AdWords in the past? What were the results?

I'm considering starting a campaign in the next month.

I currently have an ad with google for the mystery shopping company I work for. If you are going to go with any of them (msn, yahoo, bing etc.) I would use google. What is it that you are starting a campaign for?

Thanks, Christopher.

I'm still deciding which niche to go with. I'm thinking one or all of the following: Honeymoons, Oberammergau 2010, Israel.

Hi Tim,

We use AdWords and drive a good percentage of sales from it. You have to be disciplined, have a plan, and have a way to track and measure sales/inquires to make it effective. There are some good folks here on SI that you could reach out to for more information including Jim Brown. There are also many good resources online to help you get started. Hanapin Marketing - a SEO/PPC firm in Bloomington has a good resource called PPC Hero

Good luck!

Just make sure you can measure traffic and conversions on your site before you spend a lot on ad words.

Talk to Jim Brown at Ever Effect. His specialty is PPC (AdWords, etc...) You'll also want to understand basics about optimizing your site for organic search. Talk to Andrew Gouty about this. (he's also on SI) Even if you do decide to spend money on AdWords marketing you'll want to be sure you've done what you can to show up when people search for travel agencies in Indianapolis.

I have run AdWords Campaigns for my clients with great success. I would highly recommend working with a professional, as they can create campaigns with the most searched for terms that also have the least amount of competition and most targeted to your audience; therefore, allowing you to extend your budget further. In short, you don't want to pay for "bad clicks". It's better to pay a little more for the most targeted clicks.
