Making people and ideas findable

Our company is looking for a way to thank some loyal customers and we are interested in sending something that is local, either Indy area or Indiana based. We are thinking about food/treats anyone have any suggestions on something that is unique to Indy or Indiana that we can send?

Thanks for any help!

I can't remember the name of the company, but there is a basket company that baskets of Indiana-based stuff. They're here in Indy. If that doesn't float your boat, there are Amish cheese companies in NE Indiana and the Oliver winery in Bloomington.

I have often given cakes/tortes/exotic goodies from the Illinois Street Food Emporium as gifts and always found they were well received. You have to see the dessert case to believe the possibilities. I am not sure if they have a website because I always prefer to visit in person to experience the wonderfulness. And to take something home. Go at lunch time and I guarantee a great meal.

Thanks Eric and Barbara - I should also note that I need to ship these as they are going to be sent to out of state customers - so that might be a hindrance to some ideas? Keep em coming!

Cathy Spieth is in charge of Corporate Sales for Everything Indiana. They handle a wide variety of Indiana made gifts and gift baskets - either pre-made or customized. www.everythingindiana.com is the website. I am out of the office, so I do not have her contact information....but let them know I referred you.

This is a great company and they will also take care of delivery.

Two great places

1) The Indiana Cultural Gift store. It has gifts from many different Indiana cultural organizations. True Hoosier originals!

2) A taste of Indiana. A Taste of Indiana is a gift basket and specialty gift company using delicious Indiana-made food products and unique Indiana related non-food items.

I hope this helps!

We just did an "all Indiana basket" to send to our reservations center and we got some things at the City Market, Circle City Baskets (which has a great assortment of Indiana snacks/products on Mass Ave), the Colts shop at Circle Centre, and the Pacers shop. Also - Oliver Wine

Chris,
You should also check out Endangered Species Chocolate company (http://chocolatebar.com/). They are on the NW side of Indy in Park 100. I'm pretty sure they are Indiana based.
Enjoy!

There is a lady named Juile Lakes that has a company in Mooresville called A Classic Choice. You may check with her if you have someone on the SW side of town that you need a gift basket for...

There's the Chateau Thomas Winery in Plainfield. (this is also the same location that the Plainfield Rainmakers is held at...)

I have to give a nod to Ghyslain Chocolaterie in Union City. Full disclosure: Ghyslain is our client. But, really, I love the company and the product. Ghyslain Maurais (the namesake of the company) is very much about his community and The Good Life. Their signature product is hand-painted chocolates. You can shop by the web or phone. A truck comes in for deliveries every Friday if your order is big enough. Otherwise, they deliver via one of the big package companies. FYI...the new web site is in progress, so please don't beat me up over the site!

Also, they make the beautiful pastries that much of our finer area hotels serve. You can buy them in their store in Union City. And, they have a cafe that serves a gourmet lunch and special dinners on the weekend.

Oh...in case you're wondering about pronunciation, it's something like jiss-LAY.

Chris - There's a great candy shop in Muncie called Lowry's and they have Indiana shaped chocolates. Also there, you can find local stuff at Minnetrista (just call them, at the Orchard shop and they'll help you out). Also, there's this place called Sweet Lucinda's in Zionsville, and Courtney can tell you what can be shipped. Her carrot cake cookies were named best in Indy in 2007!
Some other ideas: Ball jars, Weaver popcorn, Upland Brewery beer...
